The Region of Veneto is one of Italy's 20 regions which has political autonomy and an own government. It is situated in the north-east of Italy. The provinces of Veneto are Venice (regional capital), Belluno, Padua, Rovigo, Treviso, Verona and Vincenza. The territory extends from the Dolomites to the Adriatic Sea, by way of an expansive range of hills and a valley furrowed by rivers, canals and the Po delta.
The region has many touristic destinations first among them its lagoon. Here stand a unique city, Venice, whose histroy as a great maritime power, a trading centre with the East, and the leading commercial city of the Italian Renaissance is reflects in its art and architecture.

Famous throughout the world as the birthplace of Enzo Ferrari, Maserati sport cars, Luciano Pavarotti and Mirella Freni, Modena is the capital of one of the most advanced provinces in Italy. It hosts 20,000 manufacturing firms and 30,000 trade and services businesses. Exports of goods from the province toal more than 7 billion Euros per year and reach over 180 countries.
